Broken heart

When I dropped my son to school this morning, he was so happy as usual but when I went back to pick him up at the end of his school day, he was so sad. I decided to wait till we got home before I asked why he was so upset, and I’m glad I did.
While he was waiting for me to make him a quick snack before dinner, I decided to ask him but he didn’t answer me. Then during dinner I asked him again, but he just started crying, and now I got really worried. I started to imagine the worst had happen at school today.
After I had calmed him down, he finally told me what had happen and I didn’t know how to react. After 5 minutes of silence, I burst out laughing because didn’t know what else to do, or say to my 5 year old son who was upset because his favourite class teacher was moving to Australia.
I left his room without saying anything, as it was probably the best thing to do at that moment. I felt really bad for laughing so much when he was in pain but it just couldn’t be helped. While I was relaxing after he had fallen asleep, I started to think of ideas that will make him feel better.
I finally decided to buy a gift for her, so he can give it before she leaves and hopefully that will ease his pain. Now finding the right leaving present will be a mission for me.
